Each year, guests from all over the world meet in India for the annual Incredible India Adventure (formerly the Founders’ Trip). This is a 10-day journey where our supporters can go behind-the-scenes at our centres, visit historic sites like the Taj Mahal, and embark on a 2 day safari spotting wildlife in their natural habitat.

We caught up with one guest to talk about their experience while on safari.

What was the first few days of the trip like?

Our journey began with a heartfelt welcome from the Wildlife SOS team. There was an immediate sense of community — people from around the world, all brought together by a shared love for wildlife and a passion for protecting it. The founders, Kartick Satyanarayan and Geeta Seshamani, were right there with us, greeting every guest personally and sharing stories that reminded us why their mission matters so much.

Have you ever been on a safari before coming to India?

No. When I first signed up for the Wildlife SOS Founders’ Trip, I knew it would be special — but nothing could have prepared me for how deeply moving and transformative the experience would be. The trip culminated with a 2-day safari in Ranthambore National Park. For me, this wasn’t just a safari; it was a window into India’s wild heart and a chance to see conservation in action alongside the very people who made it possible.

Can you describe what visitors should expect from the safari?

Driving through the dusty tracks of the reserve at dawn was like stepping into another world. Our initial visit was at dawn when the forest was coming alive for the day. The air was crisp and the sounds of the jungle are like nothing else!  Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable, pointing animal tracks, the numerous species of the jungle, bird calls, and what we were looking/listening for when searching for tigers and leopards.

Did you get to see a tiger?

I loved all the animals in the jungle but I won’t lie and say that I wasn’t excited at the possibility of seeing the world’s largest cat. We were fortunate to see a majestic tigress, moving with effortless grace. Silence fell over the jeep as we watched her patrol her territory, powerful yet peaceful. It was a moment that took my breath away — a reminder of why conservation matters, and how precious these creatures truly are.

Besides the safari, did you have any other favorite moments from the trip?

Of course! Visiting the Wildlife SOS centres, both the Elephant Conservation and Care Centre and the Agra Bear Rescue Facility was another highlight. Meeting the staff and animals and hearing their stories and seeing how far they’ve come — was deeply emotional.

Any final thoughts?

The entire trip was unforgettable. The landscapes, the wildlife, the people — everything left a mark on me. Most of all I left with a feeling of hope. Hope that together, we can continue to protect these wild spaces and the animals that call them home.
